Hello, this is my first posting after having been a member for quite a while. I can usually find what I'm looking for but will have to ask for help. I have a 1972 240Z that I picked up from the original owner in 1988. It was used as my daily driver for about 5 years and then parked. I spent the last year putting up a large garage to work in (25'x40'), which gives me room for all my tools and whatever car I am restoring at the time. So now that I finally have a place to work on the Z I started tearing it down. I have replaced the drivers floor and support and am working on replacing the quarter panel and rocker panel. My problem is that now that I am working on the rear to remove the quarter it looks like I need a taillight panel (the piece that goes from taillight to taillight and includes the valance) the ends look good but the main center is rusting through. Does anybody know if this is available and from who if so? Sorry about the long message but figured I should put as much info as possible. Thank You

I don't know off the top of my head of any suppliers but you might try tabco. The make replacement parts for common rust areas of vehicles. But due to the age of the Z's it's a shot in the dark. If anyone knows of any other sources they will respond. If not you might try to find a parts car from the west. jlp

Not that this will do you any good but I rememebr when Nissan still offered it. You can probably save it with some serious patch work/hammer 'n dolly. Mine is gone too. All along the top. How do you like your new QP's are they full QP's or just the lower half type?

JLPurcell, Thanks for the reply, I started cutting the spot welds on the quarters in the back and cut out the rear hatch panel at the top. It looks like I will be able to use the Motorsports lower panel for the rear with a few minor patches above it and use the new rear hatch patch panel I picked up from Courtesy Nissan. I ended up ordering the rear outer wheel wells from Black Dragon (formerly Victoria British). It semms the farther I get the more I find wrong.

JimmyZ and a7dz, Thank you also, The quarter panels are not the full panels. They go from front to back completly but stop about an inch above the body line. When I bought the car it came with fresh paint and no visible rust The original owner had the work done at a body shop and they just put fiberglass quarters over the old ones and put plastic filler at the seams. I originally picked up a patch panel that only went around the wheel well but after I started to remove the fiberglass piece the rust was more extensive. I got lucky just after finding out and picked up both quarters on Ebay for $150 for the pair with shipping.
