wfl_colorado Posted September 16, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 16, 2006 Hey now! I wish I could have gone, but too many kids w/ too many soccer games on Saturdays. Maybe next time. Look forward to the pictures.Bill Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/21602-colorado-show-and-shine/#findComment-182730 Share on other sites
Darrel Posted September 16, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted September 16, 2006 Yeah, I forget some people have a life, I just wanted to yank your chain a little. ;-)How's your schedule look for the 7th? Steve won't bring his 240. There are dirt roads to get to the track. I'm sure there will be someone to give you a ride. Let me know and I can give you better directions if you can't find it on the zccc.org forum. DatsunZGuy Posted September 16, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 16, 2006 We still had 49 cars show up. Even a couple of roadsters from the colorado wyoming roadster club. Back in the early '90s I was a member of ZCCC. Back then, we were lucky to get a handful of Z cars together for an event. I took this picture back around 1992 (my car is the green one), when the club got together for a roadtrip. I think we went to Este Park that day. I wonder if any members from those days are still active in the club. wfl_colorado Posted September 16, 2006 Share #5 Posted September 16, 2006 Maybe I can call in sick, but I am booked w/ soccer again on Oct 7th. I didn't see anything on the zccc calendar though. How did Steve's car look? Thanks for rubbing it in, as I would have really liked to have been there. Darrel Posted September 16, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted September 16, 2006 There are still a few old diehards in the club who go to all the outings and track days. The 280z may or not be Walt Carron in your pick. I'm not sure how long he has been with the club but I do know he still has a brown 280z. Now it has a 327 in it.I don't know whose cars the others might be in the pic.The track days would attract quite a few people although the 1st gen was a little lacking.Depending on the drive we can usually get at least 10 cars show up. We had a very good showing of 1st gens today, at least a dozen. How did Steve's car look? Thanks for rubbing it in, as I would have really liked to have been there. I do what I can to rub it in,,,, wait that doesn't sound right talking man to man. I'm sure there will be other events to make it to, just not as fun as the track days. If they get the up to date Odometer on line it will have the date, times and directions for the track day. Steve's car looks great, although it looks like he has 13" wheels on it. I think he has 60 series 14". lonetreesteve Posted September 17, 2006 Share #8 Posted September 17, 2006 Yeah, it was a great day, thanks for inviting me, Darrel. Bill, I'm sorry that you couldn't make it, perhaps another time. Darrel, actually, Dan had a camera, but I didn't bring one...... Oh, by the way, I think the low-profile tires look pretty good on my '71, expecially since the car is lowered 1 inch. Darrel Posted September 17, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted September 17, 2006 Yeah, I know you like the stock wheels and low profile tires, I was just trying to talk you into how nice a set of 15" swastikas with 60 series would look on your car. ;-)Maybe it was john scott from hybridz that was taking other pics. 240ZMan Posted September 18, 2006 Share #12 Posted September 18, 2006 It was a fun event! To Darrel's point, I think we had the best early Z turnout I've seen so far. We had a few totally stock and pristine 240s, and then a few with lots of mods, both L6 and V8. Lot's of variety. Even a few roadsters.
