Ramses Posted September 27, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 27, 2006 Hey,I was wondering if there is a source for new chrome bumpers for my 73 240z. The bumper align guys want 600.00 each to straighten and recrome. There has to be a better source for these things. Any help.I tried Motorsport, but the entire package without the overriders is over 1k. They are also the European style.TIAChuck Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/21722-bumpers/ Share on other sites
theianmonster Posted September 27, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 27, 2006 Black Dragon Auto has the front bumper bar, not sure about the corners though. I don't think there are any US style rear bumper replacements. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/21722-bumpers/#findComment-183905 Share on other sites
COZY Z COLE Posted September 28, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 28, 2006 Because of State and Fed. regulations lots of chroming places closed. It will not be cheap. Check this place out......http://www.zcarsource.com/carparts.htmLARRY Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/21722-bumpers/#findComment-183912 Share on other sites

zbane Posted September 28, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 28, 2006 I don't know if this will help, but...I recall years ago my dad was restoring an MG (TD, I think-he had several).Rather than spend an incredible amount on a replacement bumper from Abingdon, he went to the local Community College, spoke with the Auto Shop director and had the bumper refurbish/rechroming done by students on campus for a very reasonable rate (free or cheap). He also had the block dipped by them and several things machined. Just a suggestion, might be worth checking out.
