BuDavid Posted September 28, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2006 I ordered ST springs set for my '77 280Z and they safely arrived.. but the thing is that I noticed in the pictures that the ST springs come in grey color.. I received mine green?? is that right? I attach a picture of the box and pir of front spring (with sticker) and a rear one.. *other point.. while mounting the springs, do I need a rubber seat (spacer) under the spring? or with lowering spring it is not needed? theianmonster Posted September 28, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 28, 2006 From that tiny picture, they look green on the box as well. About the rubber spacer; I'm pretty sure you don't need one unless you're just trying to improve your suspension and not actually lower the car, but I'd ask one of the pros around here. BuDavid Posted September 28, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted September 28, 2006 yeah you are right about the rubber spacer. I'm confused because one BM guy told me that all springs need that seed, while I don se this part in any z parts resourse!I know that they share the same color as on the box.. but I saw them grey in internet..who had same as those in GREEN? Montezuma Posted September 28, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 28, 2006 Mine are 12 years old and are grey and thought I was getting blue, but they worked just fine regardless. When you install make sure you put on new bump stops, it helps with bottoming out, especailly with some of those roads you have over there. BuDavid Posted September 28, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted September 28, 2006 yes David (Montezuma), Juffair roads:sick: I took your advice, and now I have the whole pakage (KYB struts + integrated boots w. bump stops + ST springs) from shox.com I think that would be just enough right? well I thaught of aearly moddifaction which is throwing the plastic tie rope which is sopposed to hold the strut boot and use a Stainless steel jubley clip insted so it wont break fom the heat under the car.. ktm Posted September 28, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 28, 2006 They come in two colors, green and grey, just like their sway bars. I was hoping for grey sway bars when I placed my order, but as my luck would have it I got green. ktm Posted October 2, 2006 Share #10 Posted October 2, 2006 I contemplated repainting mine, considering I have a blue/black combo going on with my suspension pieces (blue strut assemblies, t/c rod, steering knuckles; black crossmember and control arm). The pink Tokico springs and green ST sways bars will make it look like a rainbow under my car.
