Having taken several crosscountry trips, let me suggest this-plan your route and stick to it. As lovely as our cars are, they do break down from time to time, and a well planned route, on main roads will help in the eventuality of engine problems. If you were to post your planned route here, perhaps those on (or near) your planned roads will provide contact info or reputable parts providers, just in case you need a hand.

I can name quite a few members along the shortest route:

Thanks Mike,

what a great idea and thanks for the map... I will post when i am going to make the trip I am hoping it will be in the next week or so..I want to get my baby home before the snow falls. I'm sure these Z's are not the best in snow conditions..

What a great help everyone on here has been..

Dean

Hey, better hurry on the trip because I went outside tonight and there was snow falling! Its 1 degree C downtown, but next week is supposed to get warmer.

Go to www.riv.ca for the details on what you need for paperwork, but ZHEAD240 is right on I think. Their office is in Etobicoke at Dundas/427 area, you can go in person in you are near.

Good luck on your trip. I'll keep my fingers crossed all goes well!

Hi,

Well after thinking about driving my new Z home from florida, I thought about it a little longer.. with so much support from the Z members I was going to do the 1200 mile drive, but with limited time and the car being 34 years old (only drivin 3 miles every 3 months)I thought it would be wise to ship it. Now living in Canada trying to ship cars from the US can be very expensive,so I found a Z member in Buffalo NY, that i ws going to ship the car to, unfortunatly the first shipping company fail to ship the car , so on to the next company does not do local drop offs. they have a compound yard that they ship to that is only a 5 minute drive to the Canadian border.I plan on driving the car home (1 1/2 hour drive)from the border. But plan on stopping in and seeing Ed, who provied me with his address to ship the car to.

So all I really wanted to say was thank you all Z members for the information you have provided me..

Cheers, Dean
