Ignition neophyte, tell me about this HKS setup

This is an ignition module...right? Electronic ignition for a race motor or a modified performance motor? Has anyone used one like this one before?

I think it's an ignition amplifier.

I think I'd take a look at the HKS website............the unit for sale looks nothing like a genuine HKS unit!!! Gogriz-91, I'm guessing its a cheap knock-off.....no wonder its a RARE unit!

I figured it was old, like 20 years, and that was what made it more unique than what you could get now.
