EScanlon Posted November 2, 2006 Share #13 Posted November 2, 2006 Mike:Could it be as simple as "I bought a bunch of these when I saw the price was starting to skyrocket and I'm now cashing in my stash!" ?While everyone knows that people need to make a profit to stay in business, why is it that when someone has the foresight to plan well enough and far enough ahead that they "make a killing" that everyone starts accusing them of ripping people off? Besides the opening bid is LESS than $35 dollars....how can you call that a rip-off?Sorry, but re-using text and even pics from other auctions is nothing short than well executed file manipulation....Copy and Paste....nothing devious there. Or are you saying that each auction should also sell the picture and text used in the auction....for what purpose?2¢E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/22133-heater-control-panel/?page=2#findComment-187983 Share on other sites
moonpup Posted November 2, 2006 Share #14 Posted November 2, 2006 Enrique:Ahhh.....the internet and the written word. Whilst I said "rip off", what I really meant was SCAM.I've seen it all too often. Someone gets big bucks for an item and all of a sudden the identical item shows up by a seller with little to no feedback. But hey, I could be wrong, he may have all these parts stashed and now just needs a little cash so he can afford to get a digital camera to take pics of all his other parts. Guess we'll find out soon enough.JMO Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/22133-heater-control-panel/?page=2#findComment-187998 Share on other sites
hls30.com Posted November 2, 2006 Share #15 Posted November 2, 2006 I have sent suspicious sellers with something I want .03 via paypal to get the identification file on the person, to aid in figuring out whether or not the person is legitimate-after being burned three times by "transient" paypal users. I also request the personal info from ebay as soon as I place a bid in a questionable circumstance-informing ebay of any "irregularities" before payment is required-in all four cases the items and the sellers were removed before the auctions. There are irregularities here, and I would absolutely check-(feedbacks from a year and a half ago, on ebay since late in 02...) Sounds like a three cent investment is in order to me-for someone who is after the HCP.Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/22133-heater-control-panel/?page=2#findComment-188017 Share on other sites
EScanlon Posted November 2, 2006 Share #16 Posted November 2, 2006 Mike: I stand corrected. I had not noticed the seller in the first auction and the second one were not the same. However, upon closer look, I agree with you completely....it definitely looks shal we say...phishy? Will, makes a couple very valid points, 3¢ is not a lot to invest if you're having doubts, and it may debunk a bad seller. I know the current bidder is one of our own, I'll send him a PM to check this thread out. It might save him some hazzles. I'll go munch on my crow pie!
