Arne;

Your are right I was one car off oh well still a sweet car.

Your yellow car will be a good deal for someone as well. Mechanically it is right and still needs attention on the body and paint. Talking with you It has no where near the rust I started with on mine or those back east.

Yes, I believe it will. Since the battery box, frame rails and rockers are all solid. Comments from people I chatted with back East make me think my yellow car might be worth as much as $4000 if it were back there. Here in the West it might bring $2500 if I'm lucky. I may just have to sell it on eBay when i do.

Even with it needing paint, the yellow car would bring $4K or better in this part of the country. I paid close to that for my 240Z, and it was mostly original, and in pretty good shape....but it needed paint, and some battery tray work and floor pan repair.

On the Z car purchase, my advice would be to stay as patient as you possibly can. The right car will come along! Keep plugging away, and when you find one for sale do your homework, ask for photos of problem areas, and if you get an answer that you don't like drop that one like a hand grenade and look for the next car.

My car will be very nice eventually - I'm most of the way there - but for the amount of money that I've sunk into this baby I could have bought a very nice west coast car and saved myself some aggravation.

Good advise Brian;

If I had not owed my car over thirty years I would not have redone this one. I will have more money in it then I could have bought a really nice one. Would of lost a lot of knowledge through all the lessons I would of missed.

Yes, they are out there. Arne's red car is an example. The blue one linked above is another just stay with it.

I have even talked with Arne about picking up his yellow car completing it and then selling it to get another really nice Z out there.

Escalon has a couple of 240’s he is talking about moving next year. Both of these will have had the rust repair done and been repainted.

Get into the club get known and then start looking. These guys will help you.

Don't discount the major metropolitan areas near you-Atlanta is about 3 hours away, and there are some listed at ajc.com that might be worth checking out, though the prices seem high...

That's all for the listing, I guess you'll have to call for more info.

good luck on your search.

My wife actually found my first - the 01/71 - after I was looking for about 4 years, mostly passively. She saw an ad in the local "Gold Panner" it's like a penny saver, or thrifty nickle, or whatever they call it in your neck of the woods.

For me, it was like finding a wife, never marry the first one you see!! I looked at countlesss ads and a few actual vehicles before the orange one came around. You will find her. Don't forget, she is looking for you, too!

What about the low VIN 240Z in Colorado, I think it's in Denver. I can't find the post but if I remember, LoneTree Steve has looked at the car and reported on it's condition. Yes it needs work but it was selling for $1,200 last time I looked.

Hi Bruce,

Here's the link to the thread. Looks like it may have finally been sold since it was removed for a second time at the most recent $1,200.00/obo.

Mike, I have a 1972 240Z that Ipurchased in 1984 .I completly rebuilt it in 1986. I had the car garaged until 2 years ago when we converted the garage. I would like to sell the car to someone who will care for it properly. the body is perfect, the paint needs to be color sanded or repainted. Mechanicaly the car near perfect. The enginne was replaced with a 280Z block and fited witht high performance parts. There is too much talk about now. If youor anyone you know is interested please contact me and I can go into more detail. 818-415-8189 cell
