EScanlon Posted July 24, 2002 Share #13 Posted July 24, 2002 2MZ, Did you mean 1/8 or 1/18 scale? The reason I ask is that the Kyosho ARE 1/18, and their cost is nowhere near 80 bucks each, I think I bought mine for just under $30.00 each. 260z Posted July 24, 2002 Share #14 Posted July 24, 2002 The orange model is made by sunstar in china. I just bought one.The price was almost same aprox 30 $. No shipping charges. I live inside Eu. There is a model car shop that has almost anything. www.model-car.com it is worth visiting. Although for you in us it is probably lot cheaper to order from some other shops. I am pretty sure that kyosho can offer more detailed models. I have kyosho 1:43 240z which is fine. I am going to sell my orange and order a kyosho zg 1:18. 2ManyZs Posted July 24, 2002 Share #15 Posted July 24, 2002 Ok, so maybe 1/8th is asking for a little too much. :cross-eye I've got other die-cast cars in 1/18, just would like to see more that are just a bit bigger. Maybe 1/12th or so. Something that really fills up a shelf, not looking like an overgrown Matchbox car. Especially if it had the detail work that some of the smaller 1/18 cars have by Kyosho. I'd gladly pay up around a hundred bucks for a model with some size and realistic detail. Not that the Kyosho models are overpriced for their size, I believe they are quite reasonable, it's just I want something that stands out from all the rest of the cars I have already, kind of a centerpiece if you will. E Train Posted July 25, 2002 Share #16 Posted July 25, 2002 www.automobilia.comthis site has many Z's, by many different companies (and practically every car you may want). Not sure how they all add up. I would like to find one that has excelent detail though. ot sure how many of you have seen multiple companies that have made the car, but if you guys have one that looks really good. Would be nice to know Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/2238-die-cast-240z-cars-118-scale-875-long/?page=2#findComment-11304 Share on other sites
Graeme Suckling Posted July 25, 2002 Share #17 Posted July 25, 2002 I recently bought a KYOSHO 1:18 Nissan Fairlady 240Z-G in G.P. White. It is a an exact replica of the '73 240Z I'm building up in 1:1 scale. Quality is exceptional and exactness is an 8/10. No radio mast, no hatch strut and no clutch master cylinder for a manual transmission. Check out their web site www.kyosho.co.jp/index.html Engine has heater hoses, spark leads, trouble light and decals on oil filter air cleaner box and brake booster. :classic: The 432Z is next on my wish list Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/2238-die-cast-240z-cars-118-scale-875-long/?page=2#findComment-11320 Share on other sites
260z Posted July 25, 2002 Share #18 Posted July 25, 2002 Hello, I have this 1:43 Matchbox speedking or roadkings datsun 240Z. Have you ever seen similar? I tried to find out more via internet but did not get anything about this model. Do you think that it is rare? It has opening hood. It is in original colour...mostly Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/2238-die-cast-240z-cars-118-scale-875-long/?page=2#findComment-11321 Share on other sites
Alfadog Posted July 25, 2002 Share #19 Posted July 25, 2002 I've got a red Fairlady Z (series 1 - with hatch vents and mesh grille!) from Kyosho and it is the BEST quality model out of the 22 models I have. The only thing I'm not too keen on is the low-quality looking front grille and how the bonnet doesn't open as far as it should. But overall, if you get the chance to buy a Kyosho model, BUY IT. You *wont* regret it. Like I said, it's the best quality model I've seen.
