Door adjustment....can it fit tighter

Featured Replies

What are the shims like? Paper thin, or thick, like 2-3mm?

They are thin, like half a millimeter or so.

I just got the car Wednesday, so I'm not sure about the door history. I'll try and post a photo later today, maybe that will lend a clue.

Thanks,

R....

PS...my new shifter boot went on very easy thanks to the search feature that led me to the install process.

Bump.....Do these pictures offer any suggestions. (Look at pictures on post #15above)

My driver door looks similar, but not quite as much of a gap. I would be interested in knowing how you corrected it once it is resolved. That paint looks nice and glossy in the pics!

Just looked at your door picture. It looks like the top window frame part alligns with the jamb properly. But the rest of the door won't. Try loostening the bolts that hold the window frame. Remove the panel, there is one bolt at the upper outer corner and three in the jamb area two on top and one on the bottom. Loosten them and try to move the frame out away from the car. Also while it is loose close your door slowly, the door latch has a mechanism that clicks twice. The first is to catch the door and the second is to secure it. Listen to the passenger side. How many clicks does the drivers door give?
