Just sayin Hi! I never owned a Z but have always liked the look of the old z cars. I recently picked up a used 77 280z 2+2 for $600. It needs paint and interior help, but the body is straight with mimimal rust and the engine runs strong. I want to fix it up with original parts. The owner did some modifications. The distributor and rotor are from 79-83ZX (he says it improves fuel and HP). I also noticed the steering wheel looks like it's from a ZX. I'm guessing alot of parts are interchangable with early ZX's. I want to replace it with an original Z steering wheel. Are these easy to replace? and is the ignition different. Look forward to talking with the Z experts here.

Welcome to Classic Zcar Club "X"

I think you will find a vast amount of info here.......check out the archives with the SEARCH function. Just about anything you can think of, to do to the Z, has been addressed at one time or another. I know that when I was doing research for redoing my 1970, I discovered so much valuable info that I highly recommend spending time researching. Again, welcome!

Tom

Its just after say 1977/78 they tried to make the Z car into a family car with the zx and other models. Maybe I should not of called them crap, I'm just a 240 Z lover and have been since 1970 and have owned 10 Zs all between 1971 & 1978 short bodys and now I have only 1 Z left my 1973 240 fairlady.
