There aren't too many zx models on this site (I've got one of them), but much of the information found here is useful, especially information about the Fuel Injection system.

What you should look for in your future Z (or ZX) is rust, among other things.

Over at the Zhome, there is a great write up on what to look for, and where to look for it.

http://zhome.com/

Scroll down to the "Z Ownership" section, and select "What to watch for"

best of luck in your automotive search!

These are two (out of three!!!) 280zx in Thessaloniki.

The black one seems OK but there is a rumor that it had a bad accident...

The green one needs A LOT of work but it has no accident.

The black..

To be honest I would'nt touch either of them. If I was having to go for one I'd go for the black one. Where you live is presumably near the sea judging by the pictures and all Z's do not like anything that accelerates RUST, the eternal enemy. You may not get as much rain as here in the UK but sea salt is definitely a no no.

Even if the black one has had an accident it might have been done a favour, if the repair was done properly, by having new replacement panels. All depends how long ago it was done. Even so there's a lot of work to do and I don't suppose there's too many sources of spares in Greece.

Can't tell too much from the pictures, apart from the obvious surface rust patches and missing trim but, and I say this with all due respect to your fellow countrymen, Greeks are'nt renowned for their respect of cars and I suspect these two cars are no exception.

If you must go for one inspect for rust thoroughly in all areas. European Z's

are more susceptible than most.

I wish I could personally help you with an inspection and although I'll probably be in Crete this year it's a long way to Thessalonika!

Anyway, best of luck with your search.

I agree for most of my countrymen are cannibals with their cars..Yesterday i saw a old porsche which was like a junkyard!Sea is a real problem but i am planning to build a garage.Spare parts are not difficult to find they simply do not exist! The only Z that has been officially imported is the350z!All other Z where bought from other countries(most Germany). So i will have to import spares or buy a z only for spare parts.Anyway the problem is that i fell in love with the 280zx instantly! The black one seems ok but...its not a common car and i can't tell if it is in good condition.Thats why i haven't bought it yet.The green one is a

NO for sure. Before i saw the black one the only thing i knew about it was that it was a Datsun.(i thought it was an 280z)I had only seen it in the Top Gear presentation for the 350z.Until then i think i have some theoritical knowledge but i believe its time for some practice! :)
