Hey Ron, I appreciate you not naming the source of motor/Mikunis/AREs - wouldn't want to get blamed for turning your project from "race car" into "BRE trailer queen." hehe.... Anyway, you've certainly done a superb job getting that car together faithfully, and it deserves the recognition its gotton.

Ron, FYI my race car's going under the "knife" this weekend. Gonna knock out all of the old bondo and fix the front end where I apparently tapped another car during green flag. I feel sorta bad about removing the bondo. It's like removing some of the car's race heritage - fixing the crappy repair done in the mid '70's after a roll-over at Willow Springs.

Hey Mark, I was wondering when you were going to drop in on this conversation....

On the record, I purchased all that cool stuff from YOU!!

And your right, my car is a trailer queen. All that work, time and money and well I am afraid to drive it agressively on the track. I can say that it has been driven on the track by John Morton though...

All the info from the article came from an info sheet that I put together eighteen months ago. I do think you got mentioned in the article in the last magazine it was in though.:stupid: :stupid:

Hey I thought you would be at the VARA thing this weekend, and not under the knife. Also I did not hear that you had an on track incident. When was this? Las Vegas?

We are going out to Phoenix to go racing this weekend with the Roadster. I just put in my 4.88 gearset (the one I should have had at Las Vegas) to run Phoenix. Wish you were coming out with us. HSR runs a great event!

Unfortunately the RV crapped out on me so I've got to get that taken care of first before getting the race car back on the track. The RV keeps my wife happy in the paddocks and I'm using the time tested equation:

wife no happy = me no happy either (but at least she turns an almost blind eye to my racing expenditures - if she only knew).

But I'm hoping to get to an event in a month or two. My tires are last season's, so I've also got $800 in new Hoosiers to look forward to. Other than that I think the car is ready to race. Look forward to seeing you out there.

Mark

wOw  I was wondering if ya guys would find that.

Didn't figure Sport Compact was yall's type of mag.

Even I was surprised when I picked it up and read it.

I was going through the pages and about to put it back on the rack and said, " WOW ! ! ", " Thats in there!? ".

That thing is done LIGIT !

I didn't even know it was a replica till after I stopped dreaming over the pictures for 5 minutes :classic:

As far as I'm concerned Ron, If you got the BRE Engine you got a BRE car.

The engine vibrations must feel great!

After all, it's a BRE engine you want to feel when you drive, not a KIA's :cheeky:

VERY GREAT CAR !

ALL THUMBS UP ! ^_^

WingZr0,

Thanks for your nice words.

The guys at PDK Fabrication did a brilliant job doing all the fabrication and body work. It is as real as it gets with the exception of the correct chassis serial number.

I will have the car at MSA this year, come by and say hi.
