justaZcarguy Posted February 22, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 22, 2007 Hey All, Does anyone know if these are 17's on here, and what tire size they may be? I know that is a tough question to gauge from a pic bu I figured I'd take a stab at it. I am looking into 17's, and possibly 215/40/17 rubber... Thought's? Ideas? Thanks all... ChrisA Posted February 22, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 22, 2007 I believe that's Tod Kaneko's car. Wheels and Tires: Three-piece Chevlon Sport wheels. (17x8 front, 17x9 rear) Wrapped by Dunlop SP9000 rubber.Chris A.1.bmp Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/23391-does-anyone-know-what-these-are/#findComment-200189 Share on other sites

Arne Posted February 22, 2007 Share #4 Posted February 22, 2007 Does Tod have coil-overs? Seems to me you'd almost have to have them to fit 17x9s under the stock fenders. "The factory struts were shortened and fitted with Design Products coil-over collars and Tokico five-position adjustable cartridges. The coil-overs use Eibach springs (225 lb. front, 250 lb. rear) and pillow ball mounts to help straighten out the twisties. All mounts and bushings have been updated to Delrin and polyurethane to keep it real on the street. Stopping power has been addressed with a Porsche 993 Twin Turbo brake conversion executed by Ziel Motorsports. The 993 binders feature 330mm vented and drilled rotors, factory Porsche Brembo four-piston calipers and Ziel-spec aluminum hats." Yes, its a nice Z car! Chris A. Craig Lovegrove Posted February 22, 2007 Share #7 Posted February 22, 2007 Sounds a nice car. Yes if you have coil overs you will be able to fit 17 x 9"s all round like I have. I have 255 wide tyres on the back but only fit 235mm comfortably on the front. I have now flared my guards by 20mm front and rear and will now be able to get 275 and 255 on my car. Just confirmation of what will fit on your Zed. ChrisA Posted February 23, 2007 Share #9 Posted February 23, 2007 So, if I am not going to go Coil-Overs then stick with the 16's?Which I think come in a 4 bolt...16's with stock struts, 17's with coil-overs. By the way, came across your previous thread on this same stuff. http://classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16410&highlight=Tod+KanekoFWIW,Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/23391-does-anyone-know-what-these-are/#findComment-200230 Share on other sites
justaZcarguy Posted February 23, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted February 23, 2007 Well, Dejavu for me....And something I already did. Cool.Well if I stick with the 7" it sounds like there is a chance that they may fit.I hate to order these in and have them not fit, I guess that I am beating dead horse here.I guess I can't figure out why the coil overs would allow a taller wheel....
