Arne,

I was taken by the '36 Ford with the straight 8 Buick and a track roadster kinda nose. Somebody has to love those ugly ducklings. May as well be us huh?

As far as inroads with the rodders are concerned, I'm really waiting for the Multnomah Hotrod Councils first outdoor event where a full showing of Datsuns Northwest member vehicles can decend upon their gathering as a group. We're just shooting to change some perceptions here, not taking over the world. Anyone who would like to join in the All Datsun fun, join the club.....

The world is also good!

Sorry I didn't have a good pic of the yellow dime. It was really nice. But I did like the burgandy, suare fendered 510 with the stock engine. Everything can't have a swap.

We really made a good showing for both clubs at this event, and for the most part we were gladly welcomed. The Council liked our attitude and I am sure will want us back next year.

I really liked the Black 62 vette parked near the entrance in front of our display. It was a great example of taking a car to the max without going to far in my opinion. Anybody that took pictures please email them to me in full size format and I want to make a CD for both clubs to distribute over the next month.

Thanks to the gang for helping out on Thursday night with the final wheel touchup work.

... that the clubs' display took home the second place "display" trophy. Way to go guys. Hellova job for a first time effort. I now have a queery in with the Council VP about how many clubs were displaying. If it turns out to be 2, you'll hear nothing further on the subject. Nyuck nyuck...

Apparently the majority of comments that were forthcoming from members of the Hotrod Council that puts this show on were very complimentary of the display, the cars and the people.

so were there also negative comments? ...don't like those import cars? :devious:

I didn't hear one negative comment . Lots of stories on how he or she had one of these cars way back when and wished they never sold it. Or similar comments . But all positive . I did hear one couple say . These are beautiful cars and really they are doing the same thing we are with our '40 Ford . I had one guy ask me what a Z like the yellow one would be worth ? I told him in the 20s . He looked at his wife and said ''that's affordable''. Gary:rambo:
