Just a quick intro. My name is Jen and I own a 1972 240z named Shauna. Here are some photos of her:

Welcome to the forum. I'd love to hear the story of the build up or at least how it came to be yours.

Actually it's a pretty sad story.

The 240z has been my favorite car visually since I was about 5 when my dad owned one. I wasn't lucky enough to own one until very recently when my dad bought her for me as a 21st birthday present. He's always been into cars and I've payed pretty close attention. I can spot out cars on the road and tell you the make, model and the year (or pretty close to it) but I still know almost nothing about engines. She's a learning experiance for me but sadly enough it's one of those "daddy bought it and I got it" situations.

Welcome to the club!

IIRC your car was up for auction or for sale just recently, but IMO has excellent artwork under the hood.

Looks sharp, bet it sounds sweet with those side pipes, what can you tell us about her?

E

Yeah we just bought her a few weeks ago. Finally got behind the wheel of my dream car.

I'll be able to tell you more about her in a week when she gets out of the shop. I'm having a lot of work done on her right now. The carbs and distributor were shot and there's a long list of tiny problems that need to be taken care of. I've had her about 3 weeks and I can't even drive her. It's horribly depressing.

Nothing to be ashamed of there. Just be glad you're dad is so damn cool and do something special for him in return when he least expects it. And whatever you do, don't disrespect him and the car by treating it like shiat, but I get the feeling that that's not going to be an issue with you based on your history. I'd love to hear about your first drive in the car and how you must have felt to finally be behind the wheel of "the car of your dreams". I think there are a lot of people here who can relate to that feeling, including myself. Congrats. :)

hey I just noticed that you're in Santa Cruz as well. Perhaps we'll run into each other around town. Hopefully not in the literal sense. LOL

Yeah DEF not in the literal sense. When I get her out of the shop maybe we can meet up and you can show me some things about Zs.
