240zGraham73 Posted April 12, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 12, 2007 I have the factory bra cover for my 1973 240z and I was just wondering if these things are pretty hard to come by? It seems to be in great shape but I have no idea how much it would be worth. Any ideas? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/23938-z-bra/ Share on other sites
Arne Posted April 12, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2007 No such thing as a "factory" bra, they were all aftermarket. May have been sold by the dealer, but still aftermarket. I've got a really old one as well. Needs new elastic. Tried to give it away and got no takers. ZIII Posted April 13, 2007 Share #3 Posted April 13, 2007 What???? I have an “original†factory, custom-fit, rare, limited edition, unique, 240Z bra… was thinking of putting it on Ebay…… Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/23938-z-bra/#findComment-205756 Share on other sites
ZIII Posted April 13, 2007 Share #4 Posted April 13, 2007 AND, it comes with a Certified Certificate of Authenticity signed by Oshi Fujimori who, unfortunately, just recently passed away…… Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/23938-z-bra/#findComment-205759 Share on other sites
beandip Posted April 13, 2007 Share #5 Posted April 13, 2007 That's the one that attaches with OEM Duct tape right ? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/23938-z-bra/#findComment-205795 Share on other sites
ZIII Posted April 13, 2007 Share #6 Posted April 13, 2007 Au contraire, this one attaches with specially designed, factory authorized, genuine aluminum clips covered in soft vinyl. Six clips are provided, each one individually hand made and guaranteed to hold and secure the factory bra to the hood at maximum speeds in all weather conditions. Mckrack Posted April 13, 2007 Share #7 Posted April 13, 2007 The bra was an afternarket product that some Datsun Dealerships sold. Bras are inherently bad for cars unless you have the Speed Lingerie bra which I had for a Porsche I drove and was color matched to color of the car. I don't like the look of a bra on a car and especially on the 240z . It really disturbs the lines of the car. However if the purpose of protection is imporatnt you could alwyas have 3Ms clear guard installed on the hood. From about 5 feet away it's almost invisible. If you have those clips and were going to give it away, I could use the clips.Ugly as they may be, they do stop rock chips and bug splatter on those long tripsMarty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/23938-z-bra/#findComment-205810 Share on other sites
hls30.com Posted April 13, 2007 Share #10 Posted April 13, 2007 There was an insurance commercial a year or more ago in which there was a car that was completely covered in ten layers of bubble wrap, that is a car bra to me. If you are going to hang all this upholstery outside of the car because of a potntial for rock or bug chips, you probably should have left the car in the garage and rented something else for that trip. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/23938-z-bra/#findComment-205813 Share on other sites

Anyway, I am sure I have several of the clips left and will dig them out today. If you can use them let me know.... they are yours.....
