I have them and they were painted to match the car. I will echo what a lot of guys have said. They look good, but work themselves loose. And yes, you have to drill holes. (And not the good kind of hole drilling! :finger: )

Yeah, thats kinda what I thought. I can just see the chrome coating peeling off over time  I like the ones I have and I'm going to keep them but I was just curious who had tried them and how well they actually held up.

Just out of curiousity, what kind do you have on yours? Do you have a picture?

Sorry, I don't have any up close photos of them.

They are really nice and are nothing like the ones in post #1 MSA doesn't even carry them. They are the metal ones and are very hard to find. When I get some time, I'll take an up close photo of them.

Yep, those are it :D No, I'm never getting rid of those babies :) I had a bastard of a time finding them. The previous owner of my car lost the head on the passenger side and when I got my Z, I had to replace it and it was very difficult to find another set.

So, seeing as we're on the topic, what are some good mirrors for the S30?

A PO retrofitted my car with some craptastic electric mirrors that really don't even work, and I'm ready for something better.

I've seen the so-called "bullet-styled" "racing mirrors" that look, stockish.... and sell for $40 or so...

Especially on the later cars like 280Zs, I like the old Vitaloni mirrors that were popular in the late '70s and '80s. They are still available, too. The nicest ones in my opinion were the 'Baby Turbo' and 'Californian'.
