New-to-240z Posted May 23, 2007 Share #14 Posted May 23, 2007 sorry to bring it back from the dead, but i have been having this same problem.SO, i checked for the relay under the dash on driver side. Found it. I can hear it clicking on and off, but VERY VERY FAINT, and that's only when i do driver side turn signal. The pass turn signal doesn't even flash. If i pul hazard pully, all lights flash , (ie. front 2 orange, and rear brake lights.)I was wondering if there is a seperate relay for the passenger side, and if maybe the relay isn't strong enough to push the power to the lights all the time. I will be cleaning out the connectors VERY SOON, but first wanted to check on here and see if it could be as easy as just the turn signal relay being bad. EScanlon Posted May 24, 2007 Share #15 Posted May 24, 2007 The Z's have TWO relays. One for the Hazards, one for the turn signals.2¢E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/24251-turn-signal-dont-work/?page=2#findComment-210493 Share on other sites
New-to-240z Posted May 24, 2007 Share #16 Posted May 24, 2007 Just to let everyone know, went to MSA today to pick up a relay and they charge $20 for it!!!!! I got the nissan part number and will be heading down to autozone soon to see if they can match it for a generic version. Hopefully much cheaper. tx260z Posted June 1, 2007 Share #17 Posted June 1, 2007 Had the same problem, no signals at all but had hazzards. Plugged in an extra hazzard switch from my parts car then they worked fine. Zs-ondabrain Posted June 1, 2007 Share #18 Posted June 1, 2007 Another thing to keep in mind is the hazard switch. When the switch starts to go bad, the turn signals also suffer from it. If I bump my hazard switch just right, the turn signals will not work, until I play with the hazard switch, then they come back on.The turn signals all go through the hazard switch.Just throwing that one out to you guys. Just an FYI.Dave. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/24251-turn-signal-dont-work/?page=2#findComment-211073 Share on other sites

wfl_colorado Posted June 22, 2007 Share #20 Posted June 22, 2007 I haven't looked into it very hard and it seems obvious that the turn indicator is the issue. The right turn signal works fine, but the left turn signal is intemittent. I am assuming it is some sort of contact issue. Is a replacement required of simply a cleaning?Tx,Bill Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/24251-turn-signal-dont-work/?page=2#findComment-212920 Share on other sites
