mrcow Posted May 15, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 15, 2007 i need to replace the brake booster hoses and MSA says the engine side hose is discontinued. Since a vacuum exists in the hose i do not want the hose to collapse. Would fuel line or heater hose of the appropriate size work? or do i need to try and snag one off ebay.thanks. Arne Posted May 15, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 15, 2007 No. Heater hose won't work. You need an internally reinforced hose to prevent collapse. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/24345-brake-booster-hoses/#findComment-209682 Share on other sites
xray Posted May 16, 2007 Share #4 Posted May 16, 2007 Black Dragon Auto, page 102 of version z.52part#64-153 engine side servo hose....$39.95 (1970-6/71) Not sure why not 1972-1973, though... Arne Posted May 16, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 16, 2007 Later 240Zs changed the location on the balance tube that the hose connects to, so it takes a different hose. Might be able to use the early hose if you move the fitting. =Enigma= Posted May 16, 2007 Share #6 Posted May 16, 2007 I tried ordering one from them several weeks ago and it was out of stock or NLA. Looking at their latest catalog, there is no listing for anything between 7/71-74. Let me know if you find a source. I'll do the same.
