Hey guys, I searched the forums but couldn't find any thing about it but my tach needle gets stuck at 4,000 RPM's. The only way to get it back down is by tapping tachometer face until it goes down, not my favorite thing to do while driving. Anyone else have this problem and can it be fixed without removing the dash?

Thanks

Graham

You don't have to take out the dash to remove the tach. There should be two screws holding it in on the back. Well that, the wiring harness and the light bulbs. Remove the tiny screws (damn japanese and their small hands) and the connections and you should be able to push the tach forward.

Some models also have a screw just before the bezel inside. I believe it is at 12:00.

go away fixxor.

Graham, I have the same problem with my Z. it only happens when it's really hot out, so I have a feeling the heat is what causes it to stick. in my case It sticks where ever it feels like. I'm not sure what the internals look like, but I wonder if the heat causes something to swell, or causes something inside to become gummed up
