red_dog007 Posted June 16, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 16, 2007 Man, that is one sexy Z car that you go. How is the interior holding up?When I am finished with my Z car, I want the same color that you got, but maybe a little darker. Love the louvers and the sunroof. I wouldn't mind getting a sunroof in mine, but I am not sure if I want to harm my Z car in that way.At least you have an early 280. Closer to how the 240 is, but it would be all the better if that thing was a 240. :devious: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/24618-tons-of-new-pictures/#findComment-212381 Share on other sites
Darbji280z Posted June 16, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted June 16, 2007 Why is that? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/24618-tons-of-new-pictures/#findComment-212382 Share on other sites
Montezuma Posted June 16, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 16, 2007 Why is that?No sure...all I can say is that you have very good camera skills, great pictures. I bought an automatic stock 240 for my daughter and she hated driving it because of no power steering, how do you feel about not having power steering? It is nice seeing a young lady being a Z lover. =Enigma= Posted June 16, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 16, 2007 Yeah! Pictures! You have some nice shots in there. Personally I like this one the best since it shows your love for the Z. Man that front bumper really needs some love too. Maybe it's just twisted or loose on the mounts. Get'er done! Darbji280z Posted June 16, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted June 16, 2007 I LOVE not having power steering! It's a "sports car", it's not suppose to have power steering. My '95 Hyundais have it, my '01 Neon has it. The DeLorean does not and it's not a big deal. Now, my '95 Neon doesn't have it either, but that tiny little car won't turn if your life depended on it. So I don't drive that one. I let my daddy drive it to work. Darbji280z Posted June 16, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted June 16, 2007 What do you recommend I do about that bumper? Can I straighten out the mounts or replace them? For the time being until I can afford to get some smaller bumpers on that thing.Oh, and I love my Z unconditionally. She can break my heart all she wants and I'll never love her any less. It is nice seeing a young lady being a Z lover.Well, under 15mph or so, the wheel can be a bi/ch to turn, which could turn a lot of people off. She might not have liked having to throw some muscle into turning the wheel to say get in and out of parking spaces all the time. Though it is very responsive once you get up to speed! Plus it is just one less thing to worry about in your car with issues and maintenance. Why is that? Its quiet a bit lighter, and it is also known to be the legendary car of the Z series, and the birth car of the Z car. Plus it seems to be the most desired car of them all. The L28's also had different power ratings throughout its life, and if I am not mistaken, the 76 280z motor has a little less power then the 240z motor. I was going for contrast: something beautiful in the midst of things ugly. That particular photograph speaks metaphorically about how the Z came into my life. I needed something beautiful in the middle of the mess I sometimes find myself in. I thought the L28 was alwasy the same. I learned something. What is different in the engine the 240 has?***I love this car, I am learning so much everyday!!!*** Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/24618-tons-of-new-pictures/#findComment-212397 Share on other sites

What is different in the engine the 240 has?***I love this car, I am learning so much everyday!!!***Umm, there are a few internal differences in some of them. The cylinders, cooling system, ect. Ummm.... The main reasons for different power numbers if the Carbs to the EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) period. Does your 280z still have carbs? I know that when the 280z first when EFI, there was a really bad power drop that was fixed over a small period of time. Some models only get some 135hp, but does work its way back to 149hp. Plus it got tighter pollution regulations to deal with. I am just not completely straight on specs for each year of the L28 motor. If your Z still has carbs, then the power rating is still about the same as the L24, maybe a little bit stronger. The 240z and 75 280z I think might be very similar, just that I do believe that the 280z is some 400lbs heavier. I should probably stop talking because I know stuff about the 280z, just that I don't have all the facts completely straight or complete. :stupid: All I know about is the 240z.I am going to let the more experienced people talk now.You will learn a lot about this car. I looked for 4 years before I found what I got. When I got it, I knew a little, but coming here and doing a lot of searches online, I have learned a LOT more then I thought one could learn about this car with how simple and straight forward they are.
