deadflo Posted July 1, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 1, 2007 Our area car club held a car show this weekend in little ole' Nine Mile falls, Wa. There was a modern Carrol shelby/ Peter Brock Daytona Cobra on display. The owner said there were only like 12 or so made. I'm sure someone else on the forum knows more about this. The guy had a scrapbook with photos of Pete Brock with this car., and he had signed the cowling. Also talked to a guy with a 65 Vette roadster that said he once owned a 75 280 Z that was the"most fun car I ever owned", even compared to the Vette! And then there was this magnificent B-210, totally "tricked " out, including the fake NOX bottles in the hatch , made from chlorox bottles. Mr Camouflage Posted July 1, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 1, 2007 When you say it was a modern daytona, I presume you mean its a replica, as opposed to one of the original cars. There are various companies making replica Cobras. sblake01 Posted July 1, 2007 Share #9 Posted July 1, 2007 Pete Brock or Peter Brock? I'm assuming you mean Pete (USA, BRE etc.) as opposed to Peter the renouned Australian driver. Carl Beck Posted July 1, 2007 Share #11 Posted July 1, 2007 Interesting to have the recreated Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe, a Z Car and a mid-year Corvette at the show. Peter Brock worked at GM on the design of the 1963 Sting Ray, then went to Shelby America and pinned the Daytona Coupe, then opened BRE Racing... with several other designs between. The original design by Peter Brock: Peter Brock and the Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe The way the re-creation happened The Coupe Design Peter Brock's personal car at Sebring... pictured below. Peter and his wife drove this coupe back out to California after the race at Sebring... FWIW, Carl B. sblake01 Posted July 1, 2007 Share #12 Posted July 1, 2007 So, Peter Brock (US) designed the original Daytona in 1964, and had considerable input into the Superformance Coupe in 1996 but nothing to do with the Daytona Sportscar built by Borland Racing Developments in Victoria in 2001 which was the vehicle that Peter Brock (Australia) ultimately lost his life in? I think I've got it. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/24756-peter-brock-daytona-cobradatsun-210/#findComment-213816 Share on other sites
