Some triple Weber pics

Seems to be a lot of triple carb questions lately. Here are some pics of my Weber set-up and hand-made linkage. I am by no means a machinist, but I had access to some hard aircraft aluminum (7075), a bandsaw and a grinding disc to get the shape I wanted. The linkage rod is 5/16 stainless rod with the stock Z U-bracket welded on the end, so I could use the stock setup from the firewall. The uprights and links to the throttle plates are Heim joints from a local speed shop.

Is your 240z motor mostly stock other then the webbers? How did performance change?

I want to get a set of webbers on my 240z also, and sometime get it stroked.

thanks for putting those pics up, i do appreciate! one question, on the bottom of the thermo houseing, do you have a plug in the lower water port or is there a "T" fitting for the coolant line? I have included one of your pics with a circle on the part i am referring to. thanks again

It's a plug. All the lower thermostat hsgs. I could find from early cars were trashed, so I used a later year.

I got another question for ya. Why did you put springs on the linkage bar? Anti vibration or something else?

I had to modify my linkage as well but it'll be hard for you to tell unless I point it out, which I won't do. I guess I got lucky with my carb connectors, I just use one push rod to move the front and the rest of them follow suit.

Here are some pics but I don't have any good close ups yet. I'll post those later on. I've only had them for about 3 weeks and still need to tune them up better. Mine are 151's and the Weber book I bought does'nt cover 151's or 152's. SO I need the other tune up book just to find out what the white capped air bleed screws do. Unless someone here wants to link me to a page that covers tuning up a triple set of 40DCOE 151's.

Nice set up though, I know I love mine.

P.S. The pics below are from last week, I just installed an electric fuel pump, regulator and mini meter and also remodified the linkage cause I found the smaller linkage needed.

I just took these pics about 20 minutes ago, Showing the updated linkage and fuel supply. New Spectre regulator and meter. and some Spectre SS and anodized aluminum parts.

Also shown is 1 of 2, 4-screw carbs that I am completely rebuilding to spec. When I am done, the carbs, Linkage and intake with balance tube will be completely rebuilt and look almost new. Like you see on Z Theropy. They will be a complete bolt on ready set and I'll sell them for $500 flat plus S/H. Probably about a week before I'm done.

Nice setup. Did you have to buy differentthrottle adapters to link the carbs together like that, and if so where did you get the parts? thanks

Thanks, I worked like hell to bring them back from the dead, they sat on a display motor for 7 years and collected quite a bit of dust and crap. unfortunately, I can't help ya on the linkage. The triples came that way. They were off of another Z from 10 years ago, so it was already set-up that way.

They're actually a pain in the arse to adjust this way. cause each one offsets the other with each turn.

Perhaps these photos will provide a few ideas for a heat shield and balance tube. Note that the original fuel rail brackets have been used for fuel supply, fuel return, vacuum and fuel vapor purge.
