76Datsun280z Posted July 25, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 25, 2007 What is it with rollovers and these cars? It's kind of a funny thing, when ever I seem to go places and or if people comment about my car and tell about theirs way back when, there's always seems to be the "me and so and so were driving home one late night seeing going a little faster than we should and we ended up rolling it three times". Now I know this can happen with any car and I'm by no means implying that it happens more with these cars, but do you guys get that a lot from people telling you stories about how they rolled their Z one late night or is it just a big coincidence with me? mbc Posted July 26, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 26, 2007 One thing I can tell you is that in stock form, the 240Z's were not the best handling cars ( as if no one new). Yes, I remember the thread regarding similar comments in the Z book. Back in high school (late'80's), My 240Z (#95815-Blue/White int) did not respond well to racing around corners. It was common for the inside rear wheel to lift during such spirited driving causing, at times, some 'hairy' situations. I could see someone loosing control of the Z when this happens. My 240 had new struts and tires and still rode like a waterbed. It is also possible that the drivers who rolled their Z's were unable to handle the 'float' experienced during high speed runs.
