I run English 2 inch SU's on my L26. From experience they provide very similar performance to the Hitachis and DAF carbs. Apparently some of the aftermarket internals are made of plastic, and will wear out over time, so stick with genuine SU parts if you ever rebuild them.

... the SUs and Hitachis. The overall quality of the Hitachis is superior to that of the SUs. Machining of the SUs is jusy not there.... They problably will work fine, though.

They'll bolt on fine but interior linkage and attachments at the throttle shafts will more than likely need to be fabbed...

You might also try these guys. Three pages of SU rebuild kits. I discoverd them a few years ago when I found that many of the BMC engine parts work on the old Datsun E1/J engines like I have in my 320 pickup.

Hi

I am an MG guy as well as a Z guy and when I need work done or parts for SU Carbs the company to see is Joe Curto. He is very well regarded in the MG scene and is a terrific supporter of the car hobby in general. He makes a donation to our annual car show every year.

Thanks

Jerry
