I think I just found my brother's 1971 240Z twin when I saw your pictures! Pretty spiffy! Looks good to me as well. So much to learn. I'm also brand new here, and thrilled I found this special spot on the internet for people who really know the Z and how special it is!

I'm working with my Bro to help him sell his very precious 71 Z, and so much to learn.

You may already have seen my Bro's car, but just in case, it's here:

There ARE wheels that are "sided", that is, RIGHT and LEFT side wheels.

The visual effect is what was being achieved and in some cases a minimal performance effect. If the Turbo wheels were to be sided, the driver's side wheels would have the smaller bars clockwise from the large bar to simulate the "blur" in a photo or stuttered image when drawn.

The only performance effect that I'm aware of, is that in some wheels the wheel supports / "spokes" would have the edges shaped like the vane of a turbine, such that when rotating they would draw air out from underneath the car (just like a fan blade). This enhances the vacuum generated beneath the car by the front spoiler and side skirts.

However, to my knowledge, none of the wheels in use on the Z in any of it's OEM styles were sided. Someone else may have better information than that and if so I hope they clarify it.

I've noticed that the factory alloy wheels on the Infinitis like the J30 we had and the Q45 my daughter in law had are 'sided'. I never knew that until the kid at the tire shop that put the new tires on the front had inadvertantly switched them. We didn't leave the shop until he fixed it. I was pretty obvious with just a quick glance.

I'm looking for turbo wheels if you want to get rid of them.

mriz, I have added you to my buddy list and when I am going to get rid of the wheels, I will give you a shout. I cant promise when that will be, but, you'll get first dibs. Dan

Thank you! You all are really awesome and you sure know your stuff. As a novice I am touched by your willingness to spend one minute teaching this sister something about it, and Dan, your car is so similar to ours; nifty! Appreciate your time, and am now stepping off here; I sure don't want to intrude on Dan's thread (I too am new here), but sure am awed by the expertise I've found here and the awe-inspiring Zs I've seen. Mind boggling. THX THanks and THX

Nice PA car, if the PO has the original wheels hopefully he has the original hub caps too, the ones with the big D on them. $2K is a reall good price. It looks like a Euro front bumper on there too. I could be mistaken and just can't see the holes.

No intrusion at all GF. My car actually is not original paint. Although the original was green, it was not metal flake, which this car now is. And I assume that your avatar is your bro's car? then, yes, they look very, very similar. Good luck with it. (her? him? do chicks call their cars her?, something else I don't know about women, hmm)
