and center bumper section. That is why your exhaust pipe cannot be located in the valence exhaust cutout.

Curtis, do you mean the way the exhaust tip hangs down out of the cutout? That is a 2 1/2" exhaust on there and not the original, which I think was a 1 7/8" Could that be the reason? How would the bumper affect that?

That's a great price for a fairly low VIN 240Z! I couldn't see the defroster lines in the pictures. I once owned HLS3000488 which was a 12/69 build date if I recall correctly and it didn't have the defroster (or 'demister' as Datsun calls it). 5/70 should put you somewere in the 03900-04600 range or so.

Sblake, if I remember correctly, the vin is 03960. The car is not here, so I cant go look at the tag, but I think it was 3960. I remember that cuz the guy I am getting it from told me that some schmuck at the DMV mis-titled it as a HLS300396Q and it was a hell of a time getting the car titled correctly back then. Thank God that's all squared away now and not my headache.:stupid:

The exhaust tip should be located in the valence cutout (even a 2 1/2" will fit), but since you have a different year center bumper section the over-rider will be in the way. Notice how RolfSis avitar has the correct over-riders located closer to the middle of the car (thus not blocking the exhaust cutout).

Dan, don't worry, you bumper overider/bumper guard will have no effect on the placement of a muffler tip in the cut out. Yours is an after market set-up that was just hung lower for whatever reason.

Yeah, I couldn't really see how the bumber would affect the exhaust, but, I'm new to the Z. Thanks for the info. I would like to get it tucked up in there though. I dont like dangly thingys. (technical jargon)

Now, this is not a criticism but the first thing I would do is lose those 15" 'Swastika' wheels. Just my personal preference as I don't care for ZX wheels on an S30.

I spent a couple of years tracking down wheels identical to those. Personally I would keep them. At least they are Datsun (Nissan) wheels. What is more they are 15" wheels meaning that it is easier to find good tires for them.

Just my opinion...

Should have checked with me. I had them up until about a year ago. In fact, I've had a set of each of the ZX wheels. 6 spoke, Iron Cross, Swastikas, even those ugly 80-84 Maxima alloys. None of them looked right to me on my car. But, as you say, presonal preference or opinion.
