Looking for input on carb selection. I have a 72 240z that has been sitting in a barn for 20 years. I'm just starting to work on it and would like to have the original SU's on the car, but have heard so many conflicting ideas on whether to keep them or change them out. The dual Weber setup has been recommended. I just don't want to spend time and money on the SU's if they won't be a good choice for an every day driver. What I'm looking for is dependability and reasonable performance. Any suggestions from some of you that have tried the options and know what works well? Thanks so much for the input!

If you are keepng the engine stock, or doing mild mods, the Sus are terrific.

Send yours to ZTherapy and let them update and rebuild them-you'll be impressed from the first drive!

Webbers-especially tripples-work better on a seriously modded engine

I still have a set of completely rebuilt S.U.'s in the classified section if you're interested. here's the link, and I just lowered the price to only $400 with $25 shipping and $25 for the early heatshield if you want it with the set-up. Take a look.....

There are NO emissions on the ballance tube and everything looks almost new. Some minor adjusting is required after installing but that's typical on ANY new or rebuilt carbs being installed on a car.

Let me know what ya think,

Dave.

I've had the downdraft Webers and the SUs and I'm sticking with the SUs. Get a rebuild kit or even just the video or bite the bullet on zsondabrain's SUs but stick with them, they're reliable and give good street performance while being pretty easy to maintain.

Exactly right. I have a set of sus on my car and they have worked extremely well for 35 years.
