MikeW Posted September 21, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 21, 2007 I find it strange that someone who claims to know nearly nothing about what they're selling would offer a buy-it-now price. In other words, if I thought I had something that might be rare and valuable I'd be hoping that it would go for a lot of money and wouldn't want to sell myself short. 26th-Z Posted September 21, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 21, 2007 Write him and ask for a part # and look it up - or post it and I'll look it up. At first, I thought it might be a 432 tach, but I don't think so. Mckrack Posted September 21, 2007 Share #5 Posted September 21, 2007 There's a guy in Florida that knows more about 240z cars then any one I think in the Country. I think some of you including 26 learned much of what they know from him. His name is Bob Fredericks and I think he is somewhere near Orlando or points north. If you can get a hold of him he will probably know. I have been told he has the finest collection of Z cars in the world and he is considered the preeminent expert on Z Cars in the United States. Suppose to be a great guy. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/25629-rare-nismo-tach/#findComment-222415 Share on other sites

zbane Posted September 22, 2007 Share #8 Posted September 22, 2007 My guess (and that's all it is) would be that it is for an S130 or Z31. Why? Because my S130 has the same needle as that one. The seller claims that his friend was into the later Z's, but who knows.... ChrisA Posted September 22, 2007 Share #9 Posted September 22, 2007 I'd guess 280ZX as well based on font and needle. Here's a comparison pic of a stock gauge. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/25629-rare-nismo-tach/#findComment-222439 Share on other sites
Nigel1943 Posted September 22, 2007 Share #10 Posted September 22, 2007 I'd guess 280ZX as well based on font and needle. Here's a comparison pic of a stock gauge.ZX, 10,000rpm. Nota280 Posted September 22, 2007 Author Share #12 Posted September 22, 2007 I was curious and went ahead and bid on it. Of course someone sniped it at 4 seconds left :ninja:. Now it will continue to be a mystery unless it was someone on this board.
