Original 19,000 miles!Sweet ride to be sure, but what kind of drugs is this guy on? $46,500??If thats true, the values of ours just skyrocketed and I am gonna list mine for a buy it now of only $19,999! True, this is a low mileage car and it looks to be in fantastic shape. If it was a late 1969 build date, he'd be pretty close, but ultimately I think his BIN is a bit aggressive.Maybe he meant the Cuda? Most likely sold for something less. A great buy at that price too...This is indeed a great #2 car - but a few things keep it too far out of the #1 category to command much more than $20K in todays market. ( If you paid that much for it, you'd still be getting a bargain, because you couldn't begin to restore a car to this condition today for less than twice that amount.)You'll note that the Cad and/or Zinc plated parts on the engine and in the engine compartment - have lost their original bright shinny "fresh" gold/yellow finish. That's the result of driving 19K miles rather than 9K. Note no pictures of the undercarriage... again 19K miles begins to show wear and surface rust etc...Being a 260Z also bumps it down a notch from the top price level cars. Being an A/T also hurts resale value a bit. Most Collectors hate the dealer installed body side moldings as well.Setting a $45K BIN simply shows that the seller wants the auction to run it's full course, and sets up the mental image in a prospective buyers mind that "maybe" it is worth that much. On the other hand most prospective buyers lose interest when the auction runs 21 Days... Buying most classics is done on an impulse... and 21 days gives prospective buyers too much time to think about it - and back off or out...Just my opinion...FWIW,Carl B. In fact, the Mazda sold for an offer that was about $2K less than it's BIN. TomoHawk Posted October 18, 2007 Share #11 Posted October 18, 2007 Isn't there a section for the eBay car auctions?If it really is all "original" then that means 30 year-old spark plug wires, fuel hoses, tyres, wiper blades, etc., and unless it's been in a giant envirnmentally-controlled bubble, then the rubber things should be dried up and the tyres flat-spotted. OK, you can drive it for a hundred miles to re-round the tyres, but the car is still not all that new.
