280z Door Handle

This is really major i just wanted to get an answer while i have a chance to get what i need, anyway... im needing an external door passenger door handle for my 1977 280z, ive found one for a series 1 240Z, would this work..

I can't think of any major diferences. So it should work.

If I'm not mistaken, the inside linkage for the handle is different between a 240z and 280z.

If you continue to have a difficult time finding one, I Recommend Z Car Source out of AZ. They always seem to be able to get hard to come by factory parts for the 1st gen. Z Cars. I've had awesome luck with them.

If the handle on your car has a broken rod, simply swap them left to right. Both sides are the same, but they each just use one of the two arms.

If you do need a new handle, I see them on Ebay all the time and MSA or BD have them as well.

I bought a few things from them already and i've had nothing but a pleasant experience.

speaking of door handles, how hard is it to take the lock assembly out of the door? there's a place down the street from me that can re-key the locks for 20 bucks a lock.

Not too hard once you're inside the door. Undo the clip that holds the rod, remove the rod from the lock, remove the clip that holds the lock (don't drop it in the door), and remove the lock. Careful with the rubber seal on the outside between the lock and the door, they're usually painted in place. My lock guy does them for $15 ea.

ah, ok. thanks. I probably will take care of it once i can actually get my car registered. i need a new rad because i think mines pretty gummed up inside (engine probably could use a few runs of rad flush)

last time i tested it, it was too lean, so the hc idle was through the roof, and everything else was super low
