Hey all,

A quick hello from Boulder, CO!

Through a series of horse trades that involved motorcycles and Mustangs, I'm now in possession of a slick new '71 240Z. Most systems in the car have been freshened up and it's really got a great presentation inside and out. Drives like a myotis-from-Hades.

I agreed to this particular trade because I thought the Z would bring a higher resale than an old Mustang GT (the Z-owner called this his $12,000 $6000 car).

I'd never given much thought to a Z before: mostly a pre-'65 Volvo guy. But something happened to me when I slipped behind the wheel of this car: something subtle yet exhilarating, like your second or third kiss on a first date. Somewhere between the test drive and pulling it into the garage four hours later, I fell hard for this car.

Now comes the learning curve, the "getting to know each other" stage of the relationship. This forum looks like a great place for advice and experience. I look forward to learning from all you Z-guys and Z-gals.

Cheers,

Aiden

Hi Aiden, There are quite a few members here from Colorado. They will all tell you that now you have been infected with the Z virus. There is no cure so enjoy the ride. We are fortunate to have a lot of Z car roads on which to enjoy our addiction (Boulder Canyon, Poudre Canyon, Big Thompson Canyon, N.& S. St. Vrain Canyons, Peak-to-Peak etc.). You will find a lot of helpful advice on this site. Be sure to use the search feature. It will help you avoid newbeitis (asking questions that have been answered a few thousand times).

Also be sure to check out the photo galleries. There are some really great pics. You might also consider going to MSA's West Coast Z Car Show at the end of April. It will truly knock your socks off. I've been the last 3 years and never get tired of it. They are a site sponser and you get a discount on parts from them by being a member of our site. www.zcarparts.com.

Cheers, Mike

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I look forward to meeting you.

The front range canyons are truly Z territory. Before these last couple snows blew in I had my 240 up along the Peak to Peak Highway for some great curve carving. What a fun car!

Do you folks ever go out for spring/summer/fall cruises together?

Stay warm,

Aiden
