Z-Me-Go Posted December 15, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2007 My name is David (Dave) and I am currently doing lots of reading/research on the 240 so I can avoid noobie mistakes when I finally purchase one of these gems. My late father raced the 240 and 260 in scca events and even let me be a parking lot "co-driver" so these cars are very close to my heart. Just wanted to introduce myself and look forward to chatting with you folks. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/26516-just-a-quick-hello/ Share on other sites

red_dog007 Posted December 15, 2007 Share #5 Posted December 15, 2007 Welcome to the forums. This is the place to be for all your information.I think, other then the obvious stuff, the only newbie mistake is not checking for rust EVERYWHERE. Spend a good hour with the help of a jack and a flash light to see what kind of rust the girl has. Rust is the #1 enemy of these things, so check every nook and cranny. geezer Posted December 16, 2007 Share #6 Posted December 16, 2007 Welcome Dave, I would like to second that request for pics of your dad's racing days. Those are photos to cherish for sure. It's possible some of our members have some also, in their picture files too. It's good that you are going about the quest for knowledge and doing the research, before purchasing. We get the heads up from the members here on many nice Z's when they go up for sale. Good luck in the hunt! mazdatsun428 Posted December 16, 2007 Share #7 Posted December 16, 2007 Welcome Dave. I too am also a 'newbie" to the site. My wish to 'relive fond memories' and re-experience the Zperformance was recently answered. Within a month of posting my search for a car, (and of course looking at many) I found and bought one on Dec 12. I don't know if it was blind luck or the goodwill of others that I found mine so quickly. Nonetheless, I am extremely happy w/purchase and hope you find yours as quickly as I did.You will find great advice here, just ask for it! 1 Bravo 6 Posted December 17, 2007 Share #11 Posted December 17, 2007 Hey there Dave, When you say you "Married a Shiela", do you mean that you have your very own, true blue, fair dinkum Aussie girl ????????????? Mate, .... you must be the envy of all your friends if that's the case. As for the climate here, ... well, .... as they say in the Queensland tourist ads, Great one day, perfect the next. Living on the coast in Central Queensland, I have a choice of half a dozen beaches to fish from. Eat your hearts out you lot. Rick. :devious::devious: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/26516-just-a-quick-hello/#findComment-231608 Share on other sites
beandip Posted December 18, 2007 Share #12 Posted December 18, 2007 Dave , welcome to our group , as has been said before , have a good look around the site . If you have ANY questions do ask. As for Bravo-6 stop rubbing in with you in the middle of summer you lot. Gazza , By the way if you do find a Z that you are really interested in , post it if you would like one of us to have a look for you. This way you can have an uninterested non biased opinion from a Z driver that has been there and done that.
