The making of reproduction parts.

Dan,

Nope that wasn't on the list, but it is now-my example looks thinner than in the picture...consensus?

Will

Will, thanks for putting this on your list, and yes, I think the washer for the earlier antenna as shown by Arne is 6/32 " thick, and the one shown by geezer is 5/32" thick. Arne's washer also has an OD of 15/16", and geezer's is 14/16" OD.

Either profile would be correct, in my opinion, but the slightly larger profile might be easier to duplicate, be more durable, and just look better with the other external finisher parts as it also appears to have less taper from bottom to top.

Just my impressions, and thanks again Will.

Dan

I was quite meticulous, the thickness of the one in my pic is precisely 7/32". The OD is exactly 15/16". Maybe time and degradation of the parts make a difference, but this is what they measure.

Sorry geezer. Didn't mean to contradict your info. I have a couple, one slilghtly smaller than the other, and took measurements as they compared to one another. Mine aren't in very good shape, thus the need for new.

I am sure that there is a significant variant in mine as compared to yours and arnes after trying to smooth and polish the degraded surfaces.

As much as it pains me to say, everything(except choke/throttle knobs) was put on hold to get Larrys car in the condition it was advertised to be sold in. There is a huge story here that will be presented on another website due an idle but effective threat of litigation to this club.

Larrys car is almost finished with unbelieveable metal replacement, and because of timing, it will keep me from attending Zcon this year, but as soon as Larrys car is completed, I will be right back on these parts.

Did we ever come up with a solution for the "Hatch Hinge Seals" that are NLA??

I'm prepping for the paint on the 260Z and just removed the hatch hinges to find the rubber cups are trashed and in serious need of replacing

Will hasn't even been on the site for the last two months, so I wouldn't hold my breath on reproductions of anything anytime soon. It was almost a year ago that I took an original early seat guard and a couple of other parts down to the Amelia Island show for Will to make molds. It sounds like he is busy with Larry's car and probably other things in life as well.

Dave, I sent you an email.

I heard from Will a few weeks ago. He is - like many of us at certain times in our lives - really busy with other things, and CZCC is not high on his priorities right now. He figured things might loosen up in a month or two.

You may have your own fan club here before you know it. I have just begun resto work on Project 3/72 so you can count on me to purchase sevreal items. I will make a list as I continue disassembly. As a suggestion would you be interested in reproducing some items such as choke knobs in billett aluminum? I personally think small interior pieces like that wold look absolutely magnificient. Just try to picture billett window cranks! I will stay tuned
