There's a Z car place in Nampa, or there used to be. A guy from Boise just took a beautiful JDM Laurel to the JCCS and won an award. If you could get ahold of him, you'd probably find alot of what you'll need to restore the car.

Yes there is. It is most likely Idaho Z Car. He has tons of Z's. I know I can find a bunch of parts from him. He has like and acre or more of just Z's. He owns a chevy 350 conversion pushing about 500hp. I got to rev it. :) Gave me chills.

He also has a convertable, and a bunch of others. His name is Kim. Nice Guy.

(BTW, my Z is a She.)

I just found the guy with the Laurel. He's from Eagle I guess. The Laurel is up for sale on Ebay.

So, not Kim, but Kim is still good for parts and help. I've never heard of the guy from Eagle.

I'm the Admin on HybridZ he's referring to. When he posted his thread on our site I asked him what the Vin number was and he asked me why I wanted to know? You know the reason.....:)

It's a great find and purchase.....:D

It is a 1970 240z that has a VIN # of HLS30-01542. It was made in 1/70.

HI Mauisnow:

Looks like the wheels alone are worth the purchase price.

Look under the hood, and you should see a Data Tag that lists the original engine serial number. The number on that tag should match the number stamped into the engine block, just below the #5/#6 spark plugs.

Let me know what the engine serial number is - you may have one of the L24's with the six counter-weighted crankshafts.

FWIW,

Carl B.

Congrats on the find, I recently bought HLS30-01704 and this site has been indispensable.

BTW, you've got the closest VIN to mine that I've found yet.

Hi JonnyRock:

If you would, please look on the drivers door jam and let me know what the Date Of Manufacture is for your Z. Also, let me know what the original engine serial number is.

Jon in Bellingham, WA has HLS30 01702 and Chet Riley in Mobile, AL has #01694.

FWIW,

Carl B.

Hi Mauisnow13

Looking at the picture of the passenger seat in your Z - it looks like you might have the very rare plastic seat guards, along the bottom side/front of the seat.

See if those guards are on both sides of both seats - and let us know what you find.

Also, can you get a clear picture of the 240-Z emblems on the rear quarter panels of the car... I'm wondering if they are the very early "CHROME Z" or the later style Z that has an outlined edge on the Z with white paint inside the outline. Also would like to know if the 240-Z emblem in still on the rear deck lid, and what type it is.

thanks,

Carl B.

The B pillar emblems say 240z. The seats are not 240z seats. They are later seats that were thrown in there. Not even bolted down. I believe they are out of a 280zx or something.

I'll check the engine number later today.

Hi Mauisnow13

I know the B pillar emblems say 240Z - that is not the question. Are the "Z's" solid flat chrome, or are they the "Z's" the style with a raised outline, and the center painted white?

See images below - and look at the "Z"...

BTW - the "A" pillar is at the windshield

- the "B" pillar is at the rear of the door

- the "C" pillar would be behind the side quarter window... actually it's the rear quarter panel.

thanks,

Carl B.

The engine number on the tag is L24-3994. The number stamped however is E88. I had been told the engine was swapped in with a GoldStar Remanufactured one. It has the GoldStar labels on the side of the engine.

The Z on the B pillar is the solid chrome.
