In the 78 brochure they list the coupe and the 2+2 as having the same mileage. 49 states-manual trans. 18 city/27 highway, auto trans 17 city/23 highway. California-manual trans 18 city/25 highway, auto trans 18 city/22 highway. My coupe which is a 78 California car has never dipped below 20 and has been as high as 27.5 highway. Possibly due to the 83 5 speed.

I'm getting around 15 mpg in town , and around 20 at 75-80 mph on the highway. My 2+2 is an automatic, and my carbs are pretty well shot. I just ordered a rebuilt set of SUs so I'm hoping to see some better numbers when they're installed

I'd say 20MPG in the city with the auto trans is a low probability. With a stick, maybe. Cold-air intake? At best you'll get *marginally* more dense air charge feeding your plenum, but i seriously doubt it will have a measurable impact on mileage.

Guess you need to get it running first and see! Good luck to you, I hope that happens sometime soon.

Personally, I like both the 2 seater and 2+2 when it comes to the s30's. The one 2+2 that I really don't care for is the s130 2+2. The lines on the the 2 seater seem right, they are proportionate, crisp and sharp. It seems to me that when the designers decided to add the rear seat, they just stretched the roof and floorpan. The rear quarter windows seem an odd shape, and the car just looks a bit off.

Of course that's just my opinion.
