mally002 Posted December 29, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 29, 2007 I was going to start installing the new vinyl today, and did a quick dry fit of all the pieces. Where should I start? Should the trans tunnel diamond go on first or the piece behind it.Also, and yes I'm thinking easy......but in the rear on the strut area and wheel wells can the new vinyl go over the old?? I was going to pull it off unless it doesnt matter, I was thinking it might provide more noise buffer but didn't know if it would adhere very well....what do you think. xray Posted December 29, 2007 Share #2 Posted December 29, 2007 Hi Randy,Put the trans tunnel vinyl on first, then the luggage riser. The rear hem of the trans tunnel is not as "finished" appearing as the luggage riser trim. DEFINITELY remove the old vinyl. hls30.com Posted December 29, 2007 Share #3 Posted December 29, 2007 The last pieces should be those with finished seams-they will cover the unfinished seams on the other parts. On the factory setup the tunnel was installed first, then the rockers, and the piece on the riser behind the seats was last-as it was the only piece with finished seams. The vinyl is cut to be form-fitting, so if you expand the wheel wells by adding Dynamat et al you may not get it to cover the top at the strut tower or other sharper corners/creases as well.
