bigoak Posted January 13, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 13, 2008 If this is who I think it is, he has been discussed at length here. Ebayer who changed his name. Generally questionable quality issues. m4xwellmurd3r Posted January 13, 2008 Share #3 Posted January 13, 2008 holy crap!that looks to be about how much i'm rebuilding my engine for, minus the cost of the msa headers/exhaust system, arp head studs and rod bolts. >_<i'd rather gain the experience (and scars) of rebuilding an engine on my own though haha. hls30.com Posted January 13, 2008 Share #4 Posted January 13, 2008 This guy is an issue. He used to go by the ebay name URjellis, and he has very spotty quality, and on occasion, questionable business practices. That is to say you may get a silk purse from him, or you may get a sows ear. He is not consistant in anything but his glowing and frequently erroneous descriptions. He uses words like NOS and OEM to describe parts that have been modified, and leads potential buyers to believe they came from a genuine Nissan Dealer that way when he absolutely knows better. Do a search of both of his ebay names here, and you will find enough info to draw your own conclusions. As for me, I was involved in what I consider to be a scam of his, and I wouldn't attempt trade money for anything he will ever offer. I am not telling anyone not to buy from him, I am simply warning you that the part you might get might not measure up to the glowing and magical description in his ad, and the service might not be as you expected. One other thing to remember, bad feedback is a two way street, most people who value their score won't leave it for fear of damaging their own.Again, draw your own conclusions. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/26742-have-you-seen-these-ebay-engines/#findComment-233879 Share on other sites

Sailor Bob Posted January 13, 2008 Share #6 Posted January 13, 2008 I was wondering what became of "ur-gelis". These items had a familiar ring. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/26742-have-you-seen-these-ebay-engines/#findComment-233917 Share on other sites

WingZr0 Posted January 13, 2008 Share #8 Posted January 13, 2008 Sounds like you've got an idea Darbji in your head ~_^ Keep an eye out like HLS said cause even I can add new parts and spray paint, (Disclaimer, NO GURANTEE IT'LL RUN THOUGH) :tapemouth holy crap!that looks to be about how much i'm rebuilding my engine for, minus the cost of the msa headers/exhaust system, arp head studs and rod bolts. >_< i'd rather gain the experience (and scars) of rebuilding an engine on my own though haha. I agree, I just found a place called Nakatsu's Garage and like to pay him for the space to let me do the work for myself and have him (Nakatsu) show me how to change my valve stem seals, piston rings and what ever I might need. (White smoke a blowing). Already did the whole intake/exhaust gasket change on my own and found I'm addicted to the smell of grease, (Essence of RUBY). :cheeky: I don't care if it's the same price as having him do it himself as long as he can show me how. There is something about getting your hands dirty, greasy than starting her up and knowing it was you who did it Unless your trying to throw an engine in and race then make modifications latter then thats another story. If you've already done engine work before, your allowed that cause at least you already know what your doing for well desreved mechanic Props :rambo: His name has been changed to hide the truth from the innocent. Will Sounds like Drag Net ! ~Z~ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/26742-have-you-seen-these-ebay-engines/#findComment-233925 Share on other sites
a7dz Posted January 13, 2008 Share #9 Posted January 13, 2008 My dealings with him are a crap shoot. Some times they fit some times they don't. As he has said in his feed back he reuses pictures and they do not always represent the parts correctly. I won't say don't deal just beware. If it looks to good to be true think about it and then bid if you like. Just do your home work first. Sailor Bob Posted January 13, 2008 Share #10 Posted January 13, 2008 It is interesting that he has changed his name three times. If you had a good rep why change your name? (rhetorical) I am with all the nay sayers - buyer beware. Oiluj Posted January 13, 2008 Share #11 Posted January 13, 2008 I was considering one of these before checking him out. Thanks to all here who warned me!I'm going to have Rebello Racing do my engine, though I may have to wait and save my pennies. The rest of the restoration is costing more than anticipated... (From past experience, I should have known that). 7T1240 Posted January 13, 2008 Share #12 Posted January 13, 2008 Well, I wish I had seen this thread before I made last nights ebay purchase - a brake vacuum hose. I pulled the part number from the club parts CD (47471-E4601) and plugged it into nissanparts.org and came up with an internet price of 38.95 before shipping. I figured anything below $30 would be a good deal. Here's the auction:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=160197445890Not much risk on my part for a $25 part, and it is advertised as the proper part for my year (11/70 build date, sold as a 1971). Also, I must say I'm pleased the seller has already posted positive feedback for me, before I have received the item (indeed, even before it has shipped). As was mentioned in an earlier post, sellers will often use negative feedback as retribution from an honest buyer with a legitimate complaint (my one negative in over 100 transactions was exactly this situation). When the part arrives, I'll follow up here if there's any problems.Gary S.
