Hello,

I'm Bart, 20 years old and i'm from the Netherlands.

My occupation is a car mechanic and bikes also.

I did alot whit cars at home, and was specialised in Vauxhall/Opel Nova/Corsa engine swaps and so on, i still do that today...

I didn't know anything about Datsun or it's Z cars.. I saw a picture from my dad who told me he had a 240z in his early years. I thought wow, what a design! That brought me in to this cars... and the love for Datsun.

After looking on the internet on further details of the models from Datsun... i knew for sure.. i wanted one!! :D

So i looked good on the internet and found one not so far from home.. They are very hard and rare to find here. Most of em are in the states. I went to it and had a look at it.. It was al rusty floors were down, wheelbracket in the rear., and holes everywhere.. thats part because of the climate here...

He still asked a 1000 euros for it :finger:, it's alot but there where only like 5 or so here in the country that i found. So i took it home. And know i'm starting the long way of restauration.

I'm taking it slow, everything must be perfect. The engine isn't original it's a 2.8 non turbo. I think from the 280Z ? :surprised

See my project page for foto's of the 1971? 240z i don't know for sure..maybe you guys know?

I hope someone can help me on a book of the car and where all the parts are located?

Gr, Bart.

Congratulations on finding a Z, and on finding this site! You will find almost any information you need here, all you need to do is search and/or ask. Even though the car is in rough shape, from what you've said, it will help that you have mechanical skills and the love for the Z car that you will need to see the project through.

Again, welcome, and best of luck to you.

Bart!

Welcome to the club!

You will find almost any information you need here. There are a number of experts (American and elsewhere) that should be able to help with any information you need.

Use the search function at the top of the page if need information on a specific topic. If you can't find it, start a new thread in the right technical area and you'll usually get answers very quickly.

And don't worry about your English... 1) it's fine, 2) we have a number of international members, 3) some of the English members are sometimes challenged by the language.

Cheers!

Hi Bart - I think you're going to love that car. You will be very pleased when it is ready for the road. Alot of people here have had several Zs over the years and are still looking around for another. These guys are a wealth of information. Lots of help is available.

If you watch ebay you'll find there are CDs available of Datsun shop service manuals, There is a site called "Ultimate Z car link page" with lots of good advise, parts and modification sites, also check out "Zhome.com". Courtesy Datsun in Texas sells service Cds but only 1972-78 I think.

Anyway welcome aboard and Good luck

Welcome Bart you will find most of the information you need here. Just ask and the guys and gals will help you find it.

My car was one of those that was in pretty sad shape two years ago. Drove it out of the shop the first in December. Two years and a month from the start of this project.
