zbane Posted January 26, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 26, 2008 Saw this on ebay, had to share. The car is beautiful, in it's own way, I just never thought anyone would do so much modification to an S130. I wonder how this car would be viewed at a Z car convention... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SPARTAN-II-KIT-CAR-ON-1981-NISSAN-DATSUN-280-ZX_W0QQitemZ120211957259QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120211957259 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/26888-the-oddest-z-car-conversion-ive-ever-seen-the-spartan/ Share on other sites
hls30.com Posted January 26, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 26, 2008 I have an ad for that body kit somewhere...probably in an old Kitcar magazine, and it has a 3 speed auto, the late '83 ZXs had a lock up torque converter that some called a 4speed auto. I'll find the ad...Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/26888-the-oddest-z-car-conversion-ive-ever-seen-the-spartan/#findComment-235448 Share on other sites
sblake01 Posted January 26, 2008 Share #3 Posted January 26, 2008 I think they were made in California IIRC. I seem to recall seing the company's exibit at a car show many years ago. Whatever it's viewed as, I'll pass. geezer Posted January 26, 2008 Share #6 Posted January 26, 2008 An expensive curiosity. That would be a better Ebay ad if there were a few shots included that you could see the entire car from different vantage points, instead of all partial views. I still don't have a clear image of it in my mind. Stickerman Posted January 26, 2008 Share #10 Posted January 26, 2008 It was not a kit, it was a turn key car like the Zimmers and Excalibers. At one point the Excalibers were built on Camaro bodies. $80K for a Camaro!
