mally002 Posted February 12, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2008 It was one of those rare 68 degree days today so I decided to stay home and work on the Z. I got most of the interior finished, but still have some odds and ends. I have been working on the interior since November and now I'm on the home strectch....Crap, now I'll have to find something else to work on. This is what I would call a "Drivers" refreshment, it is by no means a show restroration. Most of the supplies came from Les, so they are as close to original color as I could get. Here's a few pictures. (it was really bright today, so everything appears VERY light....sorry I'm not a photographer) PS....If anyone else has a Butterscotch interior would you please post some photos so I can compare any diffrences. Six_Shooter Posted February 12, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 12, 2008 Looks good. When my car gets here (I'll be making the shipping arrangments tomorrow ), I'll snap some pics of that interior. It's rough, but gives an idea of differences. Mine is a '73 and have noticed that the tranny tunnel sides are different, mine has black sides. Walter Moore Posted February 13, 2008 Share #6 Posted February 13, 2008 Very nice looking interior indeed!Glad to see that someone had a 68F degree day. It is 18F here. Let's see, Knoxville is about 5 hours (by car...) south of here, so that works out to be about 10 degrees per hour... mally002 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Share #10 Posted February 13, 2008 Thanks guys,The previous owner had the car restored back in 1988 at a shop where Mr. K was on hand and had him sign the glove box and the passenger side visor.I thought about removing them and storing them, as most folks don't have a clue who Mr. K is and even after you explain it to them unless they are a Z car fan they don't understand his importance. d240zx2 Posted February 13, 2008 Share #11 Posted February 13, 2008 It looks like it may be a Dr. K signature....anyone else???Frank Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/27028-butterscotch-interior-refreshment/#findComment-236920 Share on other sites
xray Posted February 13, 2008 Share #12 Posted February 13, 2008 ....too bad dry wit doesn't come across well on the quick reply box...Randy, if you're driving that car around, I'd replace it until you sell the car. Mr K's signature is a meaningful piece of automotive history, and I'd hate it to be marred by Armor-All or other well intentioned cleaning agents.
