My Z was used in a movie.

I recently lent my Z out to a movie studio to use in an upcoming motion picture (Milk). They kept it for 1 week and used Teamsters to drive it around for the shoot. When I got it back, it had a few new scratches and refused to start. I had it towed back to the house at my expense. This was my experience at loaning out my classic car to someone I don’t know. Would I do it again? Hmm, ill have to think about it. Me and every classic car and Z owner I know are very picky about our rides. You’ll have to ask yourself this question, Would you loan your car out to a friends friend, someone you don’t know personally, to use for a week?

However in the "may car will be in a movie" situation, I might consider it. I would require they sign a contract for full repair or replacement cost, (at an inflated value to cover high-quality professional restoration).

This sort of thing happens often. A friend of mine "rented" his house for some interior scenes for a documentary. When the film crew left, the house was somewhat damaged- the floors were scuffed and rutted to the point of needing to be replaced in areas, there were holes in the walls, the yard was full of ruts...

It ended up taking a lawsuit with the help of the homeowners insurance company to get the damages repaired to pre-filming condition.

Ironically, the documentary was on Victorian era homes and thier restoration.

Would I lend my Z to a film? Only, as stated above, with a very comprehensive contract that would cover any damages done.

Sorry for sounding harsh, but what did you expect? It's not there car so they don't give a rats a$$ about it. Just like when people rent cars at places like Hertz, enterprise ect. People just beat the living hell out of them. Thats why you don't buy a car thats a rental return The same is bound to happen when loaning your car out to someone. Just can't trust people anymore. Sad, but true.
