Just Covered Dash and New Gauge Face Plates

Recommended Posts

I just covered my dash with a carbon fiber vinyl and put on some Speedhut gauge covers. What do you guys think of the new look?

Pictures load fine for me.

While I will admit that neither the faux-fiber nor the gauge faces are to my taste, it certainly looks like you did a decent job. Nice fit on the dash cover.

Hey! That's a Series 1 steering wheel on a 260Z! That's a different look.

Clay,

The interior looks great!, I mean the whole interior.

I have neither the talent or money to accomplish that.

How long does it take to cut out a patten and sew something that large?

The blue of the gauge lights stands out nicely and would appear to be easy on the eyes at night.

Two Snaps Up!

Im not quite sure about the dash covering myself but I do aplaud your efforts. I do have aa soft spot for the speedhut gauges though, I bought a set myself a couple months ago. I havent installed them as yet, working too much, too cold to work in my garage.

I do have a question though about installation.

On my set, there are only 4 connectors into the dimmer switch. Each smaller guage is a seperate plug in and the tach and speedo are spliced together going into the 4th plug. That makes it impossible to install the tach and speedo from the front and I can only think I have to cut and splice to get it installed. Can you shed some light?

I just finished putting my dash back in my 78 after replacing the heater core, water **** valve and hoses. Now I have heat Anyway I also pulled the dash to put on a new dash cap and while I was at it I put in LED bulbs( blue) in my gauges. I'll post pictures later. ken
