73 Front valance the same as 72 ??

Hello All,

I am finally getting ready to start painting. The only thing I can think of that I need is a front Valance panel. Motorsports has a 73 listed but my car is a 72. Does anybody know if the 73 is the same as a 72? I didn't think there was any difference up to 74 but just wanted to check before purchasing.

From what I can see, some early cars (maybe up to early 72) have a wider upper lip on the center valance piece, compared to late 72 and 73 cars. Anyone else notice this?

I bought a valance from bad dog z parts and it did not fit my car. I have a 72 but the valance I received had mounting brackets that were too narrow. In addition the valance had the previously mentioned small lip. I have no idea what year it fits.

Did you return the valance and get your money back? If not please note we'd be happy to refund your money if it didn't fit right.

I have seen three different 240 valance lip styles (from 3/8 to 1 1/4). I also have an un-used one that has BRE spoiler ready capture nuts.

I should have also stated that I did not attempt to return the valance to bad dog z parts. I had the valance for approximately a year before I attempted to fit it to my car. I do not fault bad dog at all.

Bump from the dead,

There seems to be some variances with the center valance panel on the 240z's

I have a early 260z with the turn signals still located on the lower valance. Will any 240z center valance panels fit my car?

Just a little news..... I didn't find an answer, but new front valance panels are still available for the early 260z's! Got one from my local dealer. I love rust, dent, and bondo free panels!

I am pretty sure the 73 is all by itself.
