On my 71 240z the oil pressure gauge just quit working....(or I hope it has).

Whether the car is running or not the reading stays at the full right side, never goes down or moves. I'm guessing it's a connection somewhere but didn't know where to look....any ideas, the haynes manual is no help.

Thanks for any help.

If the wire from the sending unit is grounded it will peg the needle. So if the wire is shorted out some where this could cause this. However the needle should go back to zero when the ignition key is in the off position. Like MikeW said tap the gage it just might be stuck. Gary

One way is to remove the glove box insert then reach thru the opening to the inner dash to loosen the 8mm screw. disconnect the wires then push it in towards the firewall and into your right hand.

At that point, you can either fix it or replace it.
