Something similar happened to me. My plugs were fouled so there was no sparks.

Gas was just stuck inside the pistons then detonate with pressure and get out on the piston chamber trough wherever it can (the intake)

I would start looking for your plugs and other ignition components.

Hi all

Started the car today.......and noticed it was missing, so popped the bonnet and there is petrol coming out of one of the air horns (triple dellortos)

I never even seen the inside of one of these carbs so does anyone know what the problem would be?

Thanks,

Jay

I don't know much about Weber's but it sounds like the float is stuck open on that carb. Try taping the outside of the float chamber with the handle of a screw driver. Has this car been stored for some time? If the Car has not been running for a long while, this might jar it loose. Gary

Ok wellI never thought of checking the plugs but there is only about 100 miles on them

so cant see it being them, but I will check them tomorrow,

I took the top of the carb today and the floats seem ok........Its just happening on one side of the carb, like the petrol is being blown out of the carb instead of being sucked into the intake...........
