Rockr69 Posted March 27, 2008 Share #1 Posted March 27, 2008 I've been doing alot of reading in the old posts and I can't find anywhere to buy an already built R200 for my 76. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Dan Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/27529-r200-diff/ Share on other sites
ktm Posted March 28, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 28, 2008 If your 1976 is a manual, then you already have an R200..... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/27529-r200-diff/#findComment-242135 Share on other sites
Rockr69 Posted March 28, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted March 28, 2008 I know, I want to replace it or buy parts to rebuild it. However I don't want to do the work. I want it already built. I am going to change out wheel bearings and the spindle pins (God be with me on that), rebuild the driveline and half-shafts along with replacing the tranny. All of which I can do, but I want the diff to be new as in the parts inside and I want the build and the setup to be guaranteed. So does any know? I would love to hear from you. soundmasterg Posted March 28, 2008 Share #4 Posted March 28, 2008 You can always buy one and have a shop do the work. It might even be cheaper since you cut a middleman out.Greg Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/27529-r200-diff/#findComment-242235 Share on other sites
beandip Posted March 29, 2008 Share #5 Posted March 29, 2008 You could check with Nissan , they may have new or rebuilt diffs. I have a spindle pin puller that I loan out to members. Rockr69 Posted March 30, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted March 30, 2008 Thanks for the offer Gary. I'd rather buy one so I have it on hand cuz I doubt the 76 is gonna be last Z. I'm gonna have a helluva time anyway cuz it looks like at one time the car lost a wheel. the bottom of the suspect side is ground flat with only a fraction of the retaining pin head showing. Yay! I'll have Fun!as for the diff I guess I could pull from junkyard and have rebuilt. I just didn't wanna, but....Dan Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/27529-r200-diff/#findComment-242365 Share on other sites
Rick Bolus Posted March 30, 2008 Share #7 Posted March 30, 2008 I have a few still here i did not send to the crusher a few weeks ago with a ton of suspensions and body shells when cleaning out one of my Z storage buildings. I think its out of an 82 Turbo or a 78, I am in PA, let me know if you can use it.
