Show me Pics of Butterscotch interior with replacement seats

Recommended Posts

I'm 6'3" and I've been told that for taller drivers, the new seat bottom strap replacement really puts you much, much closer to the headliner- I'm assuming new foam too.

Just wanted to report that yes indeed, the seat bottom straps (strapped in real tight) with new foam put you up quite a bit. My guess is as much as two to three inches!

Butt feels better though... :cheeky:

Graham,

Did you buy these from Classic Datsun Motorsports? They appears to be a few shades lighter then the originals. Is this an illusion or reality?

Also, has anyone purchase the leather version of these seat covers from Classic Datsun Motorsports, and if so, what did yo uthink about them?

My covers are in good condition and I prefer the look of the originals, but the cushions are shot. I'm concerned that if I try to replace the cushions that he original covers won't make it through the process in tact. What has your experience been on this, anyone?

As I expected, my spacers are long gone. Unfortunately so are my seat bottoms! :D

I may have some extra spacers - have to check as I need 4 for my passenger seat. Pretty sure I have at least 8, if you want them.

My seat foams are like pails too, the gap is so big my back aches when I drive for extended distances!

Well, I have original covers on mine (although they aren't original to the car, I purchased them from another '72 owner) and they were moldy smelling. I took them off, washed the foam, the covers, the seat frames - everything. Let it all sun dry, then reinstalled them - no issue.

You could argue that my seat foam, being old and worn, may have made the job simpler and less stressful on the original covers. Let me assure you I washed these things rigorously, and they had nary a scratch.

I think your originals would be fine if you replace the foam. That's my plan of action, so if I beat you to the punch, I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll go ahead and replace the foam before I get her on the road later later this month. The foam on the drivers side is pretty sad.

I see that there is some discussion about seats and covers etc. Thought i would let you all know that yes we can make the tan/butterscotch color for you and now we can do them in a matching leather as well with the correct vents and all. We now can do leather in White, red, black and the butterscotch and we have just sent the new white leather to florida so there will be some new seats to see down there pretty soon. We also offer the under seat webbing kits for those of you with early cars and they are $45 for both seats. If any of you have asked us about buying just one foam the reason I recommend against it as the technology of foam has changed and your seats would come out completely different feeling if you only did 1 I can do it but it is a different feel and thanks for those who have commented about liking our products we try to only sell you what we use in our restorations and what used on the Z car program cars which is where most of this came from to begin with. When you re-web the seats and use new foam your seats will be better than they were brand new due to the denser foam.

We will be posting some shots of the white seats and some of the blue ones soon. and the new butterscotch leather is really cool looking. By the way I have just made up the paint /dye for the matching butterscotch rear plastic panel kits so there will be no more excuses not to do your car back original now that you can get the whole package again. By the way we are going to introduce a complete gray interior package for those of you who wish to have something that looks original but is a custom color for those different paint colors. Also if you are running Miata seats I can custom do covers to match your correct interior colors and I can do leather for those as well and install vents to look more correct. Thanks again for your business and time.

Sounds interesting about the one seat pad issue, to me it is also a question about shipping, the cost of one pad against a full set.

Can you post a price for just one seat pad Les, or PM me.

Chris

Chris

You are correct since it seems to cost a bundle to ship anything overseas and i assume just the bottom seat cushion is what you need so it would be $50 US for half a set and that could be shipped in a smaller box than the set. But when i break up a set it is hard to match them up again. I will help you if I can.

Les i forgot to answer you on this, sorry man, i appreciate you will break up a set, it will however take some time before i get to the interior, when the time comes, wouldn't it then be possible for you to get the cushion from who ever makes them ?
