Oiluj Posted April 11, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 11, 2008 OK, dumb question time...I'm sizing an A/C system for my 240Z. Niether of my previous Z's had A/C, so I'm working a little in the dark. Both Vintage Air and Hot Rod Air have several different size condensers available, but the smallest is 12" x 20". That covers about 70% of the radiator's functional area. Without any previous knowledge to fall back on, that seems too big. What size were the condensers on the original "dealer installed" systems? Thanks in advance for your input.Julio Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/27702-ac-condenser-size/ Share on other sites
sblake01 Posted April 11, 2008 Share #2 Posted April 11, 2008 Don't know how much it helps but the one in my 78 is 14" x 20". It's been there for years with no problems. It may cover a large percentage of the radiator but the air does pass through it. Looking at my wife's HHR, the condenser seems to cover the entire radiator. bartman Posted April 11, 2008 Share #3 Posted April 11, 2008 Install the largest condensor you can fit. From the Vintage Air web site "The correct size is determined by choosing the condenser that will cover the largest amount of the fin area in front of the radiator."
